Shop by Shape: The Bathing Suit Issue

The main goal of all my styling tips is to help you achieve a balanced frame. Because a balanced frame is most attractive and attractiveness plays a role in our confidence as women, it is always my objective in styling. When I say balanced I mean in accordance to your shape and the feminine physique.

SO its bathing suit season and this season gives my clients the most headaches because they are afraid.

Here is my first rule

  1. You might as well love your body and your flaws because you are not getting a new body ( for free)

This is why I urge you to understand your shape and accept it.  You can always perfect your shape and make the best out of it but you need to stand in you mirror look at yourself naked and love on yourself some.

Now the issues I am going to help you with may not be the “normal” fit issues but these are the ones I find most important and these issues keep you from achieving the feminine figure we love.  I’ve read through many style advice articles and they just are not accurate! They assume you want to cover up and decrease when in reality you should stand out and increase! With so many different options available for bathing suits, you need to better identify your problem areas and play up your best features!

Today’s looks come from shopbop.com!

Problem: Curve Limited

SO are either very small, with an athletic build or larger with a full even build but you lack an obvious waist line and you don’t want to look frumpy in a bathing suit. You also don’t want to over expose yourself.

Solution: you need angled line and cut out or two pieces that create a waistline for you.

Bikini: go for a non-traditional bikini that focuses more on fabric and style!

One piece: Cut out do a great job of creating curve and shape around your waist and this help you to look curvaceous.

A lot of times, I see people who need some curve wearing the wrong type of suit and it is not flattering.

Problem Juicy Bottoms

This is not for you average bubble butt darlings, this is more for anyone who’s weight flushes down to you thighs and hips.  I don’t condone covering up the hips and butt because I think they are attractive, having thicker things and a bottom half myself I feel sexier with the right cut bathing suit.

Solution: Choose a bathing suit that pays better attention to the cut at the bottom. Regular suits that round off the top of your thigh and in turn make your thighs less flattering, choose a high cut bottom instead and embrace your bottom sexy.  Thick thighs have the tendency to look stumpy with the wrong cuts

Bikini: high cut bottoms help to add shape and slender the thighs

One piece: choose a once piece the angle the waist and gives the  thighs the cut the need to look sexy and not stumpy.

Problem : Melons

You have a large chest that needs support and take up most of your shape

Solution: Support  your chest and off set the twin with the proper bathing suit. Don’t down play them but make sure they look as amazing as you do with the right bathing suits.

Never ever, ever wear any suit that does not support you greatest feature.. no one wants unhappy breast. Don’t pull on them or spread them out the way, support them and uplift them with the right suit.

One piece: Avoid halter top and suits with no support. Instead find suits that support the chest and slim the waist.

Problem: Kangaroo Pouch

May you have had a baby or maybe you just have extra love to hold onto, nonetheless we don’t really wish to see your kangaroo pooch jiggling around. It’s just not lady like! Avoid the pooch by choosing the right high-waist suit for you or a structured suit that will hold you in. There are many creative suits available!
