The hourglass figure is a balance figure who has equal hip and shoulder width and a more narrow  waistline.

As with all shapes this figure has variations, typically a true hour-glass will gain weight in an even distribution.

The only distinction that the hourglass shape has, is the narrow waist and even hip and shoulder ratio.

Depending on weight gain and loss genetics and your own uniqueness it is easy for an hourglass to slip from pear to inverted triangle to apple. Dressing the hour-glass is easy. This frame looks best in tradition silhouettes, body cons and all pieces that help define the waist.
